--------------------Commander Questions------------------
10.Position you are applying for: Republic Pilots Commander
11. Why do you want the position you are applying for?(150 words minimum):
I am applying for the position of Republic Pilot Commander for a few reasons. The first, is that I love this community, and wish to partake in a more active part in it's development. Despite the hardships we've been through, I want nothing more than to see this server continue to thrive. The second reason, is the current lack of Pilot's due to an absence of leadership within the Battalion, and the previous commanders shortcomings. At the time of writing this, I’ve been pleasured with the arrival of two new Pilot trainees, which I had thought all but gone. This event, combined with the subsequent reasons, are the foundations of my motivation to apply for Republic Pilot Commander. Our Pilots are in need of leadership, and members, I am here to answer their call.
12. Outside of Clone Wars RP, have you had any leadership positions on other server/games? If so, state what they are:
I have undertaken three leadership positions outside of CWRP. The first is being an Admin on TSK Gaming, an SCP: Secret Laboratory server. The Second was being the MTF Epsilon-11 Task Force Leader on two SCP role play sites. The third position was the head developer and scripted for a startup SCP foundation on Roblox.
13. In your own words, what makes a good commander?(75 word Minimum):
A good commander is a mix of several traits, a multi faceted leader. A commander needs to do more than just lead his troops. He needs to understand their hardships, what causes them to falter in battle. A flawless strategy can be formed by a commander, but it’s mettle is determined by the troopers that carry it out. Failing to see your subordinates shortcomings leaves no room for improvement, leaving only failure to surmount. A good commander needs to keep his troopers in-check, establishing the chain of command and a hard line straight away. Troops will be less willing to follow a commander who they feel is lacking resolve, or is too hard on them. There are times to be rigid in form and protocol, and times to ease it back, or see mounting stress weaken those under your command.
14. Why should we consider your application over other applications?(100 word Minimum):
These questions are the toughest for me to supply an answer for. I don’t like to consistently put myself able others, unless what they are doing is clearly wrong or misguided. That said, I believe that I have the experience, and know how to easily rival, or overcome my competitors applications. The nuances of flight are not unknown to me, having not only taken Aerospace Technologies, but experiencing the role of pilot in the real world. I’m always seeking to improve not only other troopers, but myself. I hate the sight of disobeyed orders, lack of situational awareness, and lack of care in troopers on the field. I’ve learned so much about the psychology of the typical trooper over my 100+ hours on this server. So much could be improved to make all our members the best if the best. I don’t want to see Republic Pilots be the deserted, background battalion it has been any longer. Aspiring Clones should respect the Pilots, not just because of our specialty, but because of the quality of our service. Republic Pilots need a reputation that stands out, one that facilitates not only growth, but long standing success.
15. How would you run the battalion you are applying for? Anything regarding how hard the tryouts are, seriousness, organization, anything else you think should go here:
When it comes to running the Republic Pilots, I’ll go over the main points.Seriousness: This is an Serious-RP server, mingeing, being out of line, or being otherwise disrespectful will have no place with any of my troopers. Being a Pilot means that other troopers count on you to not get them killed in transport, evacuate them from combat zones, or after a mission, and support them via air-to-air or air-to-ground combat.Organization: Ranking in the battalion will follow that of the server, although I may decide to personalize the names a little bit to fit an aviation unit. The current selection of LFS craft available serverside at this time do not allow for specializations. All pilots will be trained in all aspects of military aviation: Communication, combat, formations, dogfighting, bombing, CAS, hot pickups and landings, etc. This will help minimize the weaknesses of a small battalion population, or the lack of a member during an event or mission.Tryouts: The tryouts themselves will not be the main test for an aspiring pilot, but merely an overview of what being a pilot is, and an early test of skill. The goal isn’t just to seek pilots that are already good, that would defeat the purpose of a new CT joining their first regiment. I’m looking for their potential as a pilot, the dedication, and qualities of a good soldier. Completing tryouts will see you coming out as a Trainee, who will begin an in-depth look at, and practice the skills of piloting an aircraft. An lack of improvement overtime, poor mission to mission performance or behavior, or insurmountable mistakes could see these new members their way out of the Republic Pilots. Showing improvement, dedication, respect, and skill will see new members up the ranks. Promotions will not come easy, with requirements needing to be fulfilled prior to an increase an rank.
16. What do you know about the battalion that you are applying for? (100 word minimum):
The Republic Pilots are just what the title states: Pilots. A battalion outfitted for the use of Starships, armored vehicles, and walkers. Being first randomly picked from the ranks, then bred specifically for their role, they specialize in the off-ground side of combat, and the use of a vehicle rather than oneself. Pilots are responsible for a variety of actions: Transport of troops, providing an overview of an Combat area, defense of capital ships and corvettes, and support of ground forces in battle. Clone pilots were first known for their use of LAAT/i’s during the Battle of Geonosis. They then went on to utilize a variety of other starships, including the ARC-170, Delta-7, BTL-B Y-Wing, A-Wing, Z-95 Headhunter, and more.
17. How well are you at working with others, specifically other commanders on a scale of 1-10? (10 being the greatest.)
I’d rate myself at about an 7.
--------------------Situational Questions------------------
18.How would you handle a trooper disobeying orders on the battlefield?:
The battlefield is not the place for harsh or lengthy discipline, everyone is needed in the fight. That said, such a trooper would be warned and strongly advised to get back on track, or face punishment greater than what comes with just disobeying an order. Complete refusal can be met with server action, due to No Intent To RP taking affect.
19. You are preparing an assault on a CIS fortress, you have 1 AT-TE and 50 troopers available including yourself. How would you do it?:
This question doesn’t allow for a complete description of an operation, but does allow for the key concepts. The first order of duty would be to scout out their forces, get the most accurate measurement of what we are about to face. The troopers’ and AT-TE’s plan of attack can then be formulated. The AT-TE however, can have several general uses. The first is the use of it’s cannons to neutralize any particularly dangerous threats that may be faced. The second is it’s potential to breach the fortifications of the fortress, or even deform the environment to potentially provide cover for infantry.
20. You are heavily outnumbered by enemy forces and you are preparing a retreat. You spot a squad further ahead being pinned down and with no way to escape. What would you do?:
Following the rule of no brother left behind, I would, to the best of my ability, attempt to save that squad. There does become a point however, where the losses faced will outweigh the value of saving the squad. No brother left behind has no merit if significant lives are lost to achieve it, as that would be a failure to the Republic.
21. You are in a LAAT with 2 Medics, 5 Privates and 1 Captain. The LAAT takes a direct hit and goes down. Everyone in the LAAT is heavily injured but you. Who do you save and why?:
I would first prioritize the condition of the medics, making sure they are still able to do what’s needed. Medics have the capability and know how to hopefully not only patch up themselves, but also the remaining survivors. No point in picking and choosing who to save and who to die, if everyone has the potential to be saved.
--------------------Agreement--------------------
I, “Kuro Kanashii”, agree to follow the server rules at all times, follow the ranking structure, to command my battalion to the best of my abilities, and take command of operations when needed. If I fail to follow these instructions, I will take full responsibility of my actions and accept my demotion with no further delay.
